Why does my mom act silly?

May 27th, 2005 by Yvonne

I don’t understand why do I have a mother like mine. She acted stupid again today. I was lying in bed complaining that the place got smelly. Next, she took the air freshener and prayed it at my face. Damn! How old is she? 56! Yet she still have brains of a kid. Sometimes she makes me feel that she is mentally retarded. She always do embarrasing things. Luckily, I spent my childhood with my aunt who is more matured and tougher than her. Eventhough mom looks very ‘old’ on the outside but she is only forced to be so. But she’s very dependant on me. For God’s sake, she can’t even make a dedcent phonecall!
I will never leave my children with her in the future. I certainly don’t want them to grow up doing silly things.

A little harsh isn’t it? Perhaps all you mom wants is to fit in…

No matter what & how, they’ll always be mum, without whom we would not be where we are today. Better appreciate them (& yes, tolerate them) when u can. When I was in college, I was like you, despising my parents but now that I’m all grown up & working, I began to look at them thru a different light & think of how hard they have worked to put my siblings & myself through the best foreign universities.Take it easy!

Do not get yourself upset when you find yourselves dwelling on the negative issues in your life. Instead ask yourself “why are you doing so? The answer will come to you.

Let whatever emotions is involved flow through. Do this honestly and feelings of despondency will go through and vanish.

Many of your own beliefs work for you for a certain period of your life. Many children at one time or another believe that their parents are omnipotent giving them a sense of security.

Then in later adolescent years the same offspring are shocked to discover their parents to be quite human and fallible; the inadequacy and inferiority of the older generations and the callousness of those in control of them.

The rebellious streak in you surface in adulthood and you would believe that the older generations have “done everything wrong. This is good for you as it frees you of your “childish concepts and gives you the challenge to tackle personal and world problems

blood is always thicker than water…

sayin’ that ur mum is stupid…saying that u’ll never want to leave ur kids with her…thats just plain wrong.

i mean yea..i do find my parents a bit nutty n silly at times..especially when it comes to computers n tech. n they’ll start asking me various questions up to points of not making sense…and they can do weird stuffs that u’ll never believe anyone would do…but they’re still a part of the family.

no matter how much u want to deny it..ur mum still loves u n cares for u. only that she gave it out in a very wrong way thinkin’ that it’ll build a better bond between the both of u…in other words tryin’ to fit in with a wrong method.

people always say that it is not easy to understand their kids…n maybe this is why she’s tryin’ to be younger..hoping she wont lose you at all n that u’ll accept her not only as a mother but a friend…

That’s my concern Cheryl. If it was anything else, I’d get past but aerosol! and I had to wash myself thoroughly after that.
