AYA Dream Malaysia Awards Nomination

Good news! I’ve been nominated for the AYA Dream Malaysia Awards 2005. Please vote for me!

What is the AYA Dream Malaysia Award?

The AYA Dream Malaysia Awards is about our future – and the people who are farsighted enough to invest in it. The Awards is in line with AYA’s objective of building tomorrow’s leaders today and to create a better and brighter future for Malaysia by inspiring, inciting and inculcating responsible attitudes and actions especially – but not exclusively – in the hearts and minds of our youths.

This Awards serves as an encouragement to emerging individuals and responsible institutions to persevere in their dreams of improving the quality of life for themselves and for those around them in spite of the difficulties and obstacles they encounter.

Through “The Most Outstanding Youth of the Year Award, we seek to give due recognition to young individuals whom have overcome and may still be overcoming obstacles in their lives in order to be where they are today. These ordinary individuals with extraordinary spirits need not be rich or famous but their attitude towards life coupled with their sacrificial contributions has made a real impact among their family and friends. We want their stories to tell the world that though life may not always turn out the way we expect, there is always hope.

Life College is sponsoring a scholarship worth RM 16000 – RM 24000 to the winner of The Most Outstanding Youth of The Year.

I believe that this award will further raise awareness of Neurofibromatosis, and I really look forward to continuing my studies. If you think that I deserve this award, please vote for me!

John Ling is also one of the nominees.

About Yvonne Foong

As a child, Yvonne Foong dreamed of growing up to help others. To achieve her ambition, she began studying to become a psychologist. But things changed when tumours were discovered in her body at the age of sixteen. She was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2 -- a genetic illness with no cure. Fighting for survival, Yvonne turned to fundraising and embarked on a medical odyssey to the United States. Her experiences since then have transformed her into a motivational speaker; inspiring hope, faith and strength. Yvonne is currently working to establish A Celebration of Life, a charity foundation that provides NF patients in Malaysia with financial and logistical support.
