A fading point of light
November 30th, 2005 by Yvonne
here’s a poem I wrote in a gist. Some stanzas have been omitted to protect my privacy. Enjoy…
A fading point of light Yvonne Foong 28/11/05
You walked into my life,
When luck wasn’t by my side,
You answered to my cry,
To things I so deprived.
Having searched high and low,
You appeared as the pot of gold,
That God lovingly bestowed,
To end my struggling row.
You were that cotton pulp,
That nursed my wounded heart,
Whenever I cried aloud,
You’d comfort from the start.
You were that point of light,
My map and living guide,
To you I seek my way,
You’re whom I safely confide.
(omitted)
But the truth I soon learn,
Is what I did not see,
When I’ve grown independant,
God took you away from me.
I’ve always thought you were,
Caring out of love,
Why must there be another her,
That made me a wounded dove.
You mean a lot to me,
For all that you have done,
Why aren’t we meant to be,
Why aren’t you the one?
