San Gabriel Mission District
December 31st, 2007 by Yvonne
Saturday morning. Woke up to find Steven watching television. After breakfast, we went to San Gabriel Mission District, just 5 minutes drive from where Steven lives.
SAN GABRIEL HISTORICAL WALK - TILE NO. 1

Steven had to help me get up there. My balance has not been good lately. So remember you’ve seen this picture of me standing tall.

This proves how short Yvonne is, from Steven’s eye-level.

Entrance of the Grapevine Arbor. People hire this place for functions. There were people taking wedding photographs while we were there.

Original El Camino doors. Starting point of the San Gabriel Mission.

Steven takes nice photos, doesn’t he?

He took the shots of me while I took the rest. This is the church corridor.

I’ve always wanted to photo like this one. I finally got it!

We were here at noon.

That’s a statue of San Gabriel before the church.

Early 19th century Confessional Box

Mock buildings. The graves of past parishioners were also buried nearby, in the church vicinity. Unfortunately I deleted those photos by mistake.

dedication plagues enacted in honor of donors and their loved ones.

Okay, Steven had to go now. So off we went.

If you’re keen, read here to learn more about the Mission.

dave: After surgery last year, my friend took me to Rodeo Drive in L.A. It was sometime before Christmas when the decos were going up. I have been to NY twice but never during Christmas. Thanks again for the dedication!
