Broken Homes

June 29th, 2008 by Yvonne

There are some things in life you can only break once. That includes our home.

This is the route I take to mail your stuffs at the post office.

Home was so peaceful before Sri Kuala Lumpur was built. Followed by Taylors, Inti, and Metropolitan Colleges. If we knew this place will turn out the way it is now, we wouldn’t have bet our good money here.

Their only concern is the dollar sign. The more the better, while putting our lives at stake.

Uneven stone slabs. Cutting cost?

It’s one thing when you come here couple of times a week to get dinner or pay the bills.

It’s another when you’ve lived here for year, watching the place turn into a 3rd world horror throughout the 22 years of your life.

It used to be so wonderful to live in.

Who’s going to give me back my home?

And the houses here worth at least half a million these days. But at the cost of our safety and mental health.

These pictures are only possible on weekends. The roads become some jammed up on most days, it’s hard to even walk over to the stores a stone’s throw away.

Some telling pictures. But surely such photos can be taken during weekdays as well - except one has to be up really early…

Hi Yvonne, well taken photos, and it is sad to see the authorities being blind to the various dangers as exposed in your pics.
Where I am…there’s a special section in our local papers, everyday for such irresponsible not to mention the dangers to people, motorists attitude or pointing of fingers, not my department kinds of pics.

If such pics appear…and politicians from MP’s, mayors etc to heads of departments, relevant authorities see them, someone sure going to get BBQ’ed and stir fried! FAST!
And you can bet one ice coffee, three plain donuts…within hours or latest a day, the problems will be rectified…and fast!
That bottom pic…if here, and someone hits it or walks into it, lawyers will have a field day…those missing tiles too…they’ll get get their pants sued!

My last trip back in 2002, I was in a car driven by a friend and asked where is Jalan Ampang? “You’re on it”! Ha ha. I just can’t recognise the roads anymore…where I used to pluck rambutans at friends homes wayyyy back in the 50’s, 60’s…today the Twin towers.
My playground for fishing and young days schoolboy adventures was Kampong Pandan, Ampang…today, I wouldn’t even know where it is.
And lately heard Kampong Baru might make way for developement?
Holy Smoke…the person who thought of that idea should get stir fried! It should be kept as an heritage site.
I used to play badminton, climb rambutan trees there at my Malay friends homes.
Oh well…the motivation for all that is or comes down to $$$.
You stay easy and watch where you walk…bestregards, Lee.

Couldster: There will always be a way. But it’s not about the possibility of taking these pictures. That was just a figure of speech.

Uncle Lee: I don’t remember where Kampung Baru and Pandan are. Going to college from my house, about 1km away is like crossing the ocean! Imagine driving to KL. However, we have our own rambutan tree in the yard. ;)
