Article: A friend who helped me find myself
The CD sent to Dr. Friedman on 9th September has been retained by U.S. Customs upon arrival. Please pray for its safe release so that doctors at House Clinic may evaluate my condition as soon as possible. People usually pray for prisoners of conscience, but we pray for my CD!

Saturday afternoon was spent having dessert with Alicia. She is returning to the U.K. on Monday for her Master’s degree in Maritime Law. Florence and Kenrick were with us too.
Of all my friends, I share the most personality characteristics with Alicia. We are both the only child, always striving to be strong and independent. People may think an only child is spoilt with too much pampering. But that isn’t the case for us.
At the time I came to know Alicia, in-fighting within my family forced me into a corner and standing on my own two feet. Feeling lost and uncertain, Alicia was to me like a mirror. I doubt she knew the inner problems I had then because even I was not aware of them. But Alicia has a strong personality, so simply staying together and observing, she became my guide-post.
Alicia loves to read literary classics and sports magazines. No shopping would do without her dropping into a bookstore. Maybe she influenced my reading habits after all. And I thought it was John! Yesterday, I saw Randy Pausch’s book on sale at MPH but did not bring money so Alicia bought it for me. But she was concerned that the book may be a bit too morbid.
I know, to Alicia she wants to see me hopeful and going far. When our paths crossed, the journey ahead seemed like it could be shared. We once dreamed of studying abroad and staying in the same house. That was seven years ago. Many things changed. What takes Alicia to accomplish in four years may take me ten. But I am getting there,
Thanks Alicia and your family. You mean so much to me.

Hie Yvonne,
Thanks for this wonderful msg. It certainly has been a great encouragement for me. I recently lost both of grandmother in a span of three weeks and with my visa and flight delayed, it was a very difficult time for me and my family. It means so much to me as you are a truly supportive friend and I really hope that you will have a wonderful future ahead of you. Also, I’m not ahead of you. We are equal. You might not have gone through your degree. Yet, you are able write a book, run a charitable organisation and most importantly, you have never let your condition be a reason to stop you. To me, you are not just my friend but a role model to me. Take care of yourself. And never stop trying.
Bisous mon cherie
Yours truly,
Alicia xxx
