Yvonne Foong: Fighting NF

Cordy and I visited KidChan Studio at their new place in SS17, Petaling Jaya. We took studio shots wearing Heart4Hope Ambigram. Pro bono. Guess who’s our male model?

We were the earliest arrivals, followed by couples and small families. Kid Chan Studio had a Valentine’s Day Promotion. Photography plus make up cost only RM99.99.Not sure if they will give out prints or digital files, though. Maybe Kid will answer that.

He asked that I bring along some tees to sell and so I did. To my surprise, Kid made quite an effort talking to people and getting them to support. It must be hard since Kid had always focused on branding himself. But everything has it’s start, correct?

It’s not everyday we get to see this at Kid Chan Studio. The people who came today were simple, middle-income folks. I spoke with a teenage girl studying accounts at UCSI, a management major at UTM, and many more. These people aren’t famous or rich, and not looking for fame. But they are approachable. It’s really nice seeing KidChan Studio reach out.

The atmosphere was especially warm. I’ve been to Kid Chan Studio at their old quarters in Bangsar many times. But tt lacked humanity, nothing like this.

Today, guests mingled, chit chat, or just relaxed pn the living room couch.

Couples btought strollers and their babies, who needed make up too! I like to observe children, so these babies were great fun! They eased tension and got conversations going.

We raised a few hundred ringgit for my healthcare. But more importantly, we raised awareness and related with people. I got to meet some coming in for photoshoot, who also reads my blog!

Will we get to see more of these elements at Kid Chan Studio? Well, we can’t expect them to provide professional services and charge RM99.99 all the time. But still, it would be very, very nice if more can have the benefit of experiencing Kid Chan Studio, the friendliness of Kid’s wife, Srirlyn, and Kid’s easygoing team members.

Some community services or CSR projects, maybe?

Until that happens, the only other option is to pay by installment. That is, if you are a Maybank credit card holder. A 24-month scheme, interest free!
