Yvonne Foong: Fighting NF

Article: Cochlear Nucleus Freedom speech processor. What color should I get?

As you know, I am now hoping to raise another RM8k to upgrade my hearing aid speech processor. I have been using the bulky Cochlear Nucleus Sprint processor for three years. It’s now time to upgrade to the Freedom processor.

Cochlear Nucleus Freedom Processor

The Sprint speech processor was heavy, bulky, and had to be clipped to my garments. There were long, obstructive electrical cords that must be changed from time to time.

The Freedom processor is far smaller and lighter, fits entirely behind the ear, and offers a whole new hearing experience.

But I have a dilemma. What color should I get?

I used to wear light brown ear piece and cords for several months. Then I changed to black and used black color for over two years. Should I try the baby pink this time?

It’d be so cool! They’d think it’s a cellphone handsfree kit.

Hope I won’t get mugged for it though.

hey, if u love the pink, get the pink!!! I chose a kind of gold color for my new aid as it goes better w/my hair & skin color. I once had a clear aid so you could see all the inner workings of the hearing aid, kinda cool but since then, always chose a light skin-tone color. no non skin-tone colors to choose w/my new aid but for the “gold” that was prettier than the duller regular light skin tone i usually choose. i’d like to get covers I think they call ’skins’ that fit over your aid to color-coordinate w/your outfits! Cooknengr: Good idea but Cochlear America being American, I might find Mickey Mouse rather than Hello Kitty.

Sherry: The Gold color looks cool from the picture above but I am not sure how the real thing will look. Will it make me look like a thug? Haha! I need to check out those skins to see if they have any that fit the Freedom processor.

something that camouflages with your hair/skin would be great actually in the long run :P

For the pink may not match your black dinner dress
or maybe some other eyeshadow colours which you may fall in love with in future.

I have a pair of beautiful lime green heels which I have problems matching with most me outfits.. Colour matching has always been a dilemme for us women if we’re only stuck with only one colour.

Do hope this rocking new speech processor of yours do have a variety of skin for you to play with!

gkshin: I like how you used your lime green hells as an example. It sure did make my hearing aid sound more fashionable! You have a point there. I might like the funky color now only to regret later. Let me think somemore.

Richard: U like the pink too?

Yes, pink looks nice on you. With due respect to gkshin, I think pink as an accessory on a girl will go with any other colour of her dress, shoes, etc – and especially Yvonne, I think she can carry it well!
