A friend of mine wants to help us by informing people she knows who may be able to assist us in acquiring pledges for A Celebration of Life foundation. She asked me whether I had a word ducoment with explanations that she may forward to her contacts, so I spent some time preparing this document which turned out to be a formal letter. We also decided to include sample pledge letters into the same document for readers’ easy reference should they wish to make a pledge.

This letter will ensure that correct information is passed on to potential contributors.

If you know of anyone who may be interested to make a pledge and support A Celebration of Life foundation’s incorporation, you may request for this document from me to be shown to your contacts. But do remember that we still need to briefly introduce the subject to the people we are contacting before or while sending them this document, depending on the nature of your relationship with them.

It would not be polite to simply send them this letter without briefly explaining what you want to tell them about.

Thanks for your help in advance.

You may send me an e-mail to yvonnefmn(at)gmail(dot)com

Yvonne Foong

As a child, Yvonne Foong dreamed of growing up to help others. To achieve her ambition, she began studying to become a psychologist. But things changed when tumours were discovered in her body at the age of sixteen. She was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2 -- a genetic illness with no cure. Fighting for survival, Yvonne turned to fundraising and embarked on a medical odyssey to the United States. Her experiences since then have transformed her into a motivational speaker; inspiring hope, faith and strength. Yvonne is currently working to establish a humanitarian foundation that provides NF patients in Malaysia with financial and logistical support. Visit Works of Gratitude to learn more.

Also Yvonne, considering that you need a pledge of RM 1 million in donation in January, would you consider approaching the general public through newspapers, or online news portals?

Yes, I would. I have written to one journalist I know this morning. Do you know any other journalists who might be willing to pick up this cause?
