Valentines Sock Dolls banner

It’s Valentine’s Day again, my dear readers. I have many people tell me that they don’t celebrate Valentine’s day because of the degree it has been commercialized.

I personally think that we have a choice of how and where to celebrate Valentine’s Day. If you are against restaurants that mark up their prices exhorbitantly on Valentine’s Day, then prepare a candlelight dinner at home. If you think roses are not worth the expensive Valentine’s Day pricetag, then omit the flowers and celebrate this occassion with other gifts. You don’t necessarily need to discount the entire occassion altogether.

This year, I have something which you can use to celebrate Valentine’s Day with, inexpensively yet meaningfully.

My good friend Cordelia Lee has sewn a collection of dolls entirely by hand. With some thread and a needle, she turned cotton socks into cute little horses, dolphins and whales. There is even a dachshund sausage dog that looks like Eeyore from Winnie The Pooh.

She has given these dolls to me, to be sold as Valentine’s Day gifts. Money received from the sale of these dolls will help me cover the cost of setting up a charity.

Will you buy one to support my mission? These dolls were specially sewn with the intention of blessing people, so by giving them to your loved ones, you are truly celebrating Valentine’s Day to the word.

LOVE the ideas that Kathy & Sugary Flower posted!! I third the fairy tale vote! A back to scoohl theme would be fun toward the end of the summer. You might do a beach or swimming theme that would go along with that common summer past time. I like the idea of some equipment based ones, and I also think a hand molded onigiri theme would be fun. A patriotic theme would be fun for the 4th of July. Transportation would be a fun, as well as animation (like an animated character). Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!!
