My maiden Blogathon

Ouh, did I mention that this is my FIRST time participating in a Blogathon? I have never heard of the term “Blogathon” when I started blogging in October last year. It wasn’t until I had started chatting with Edrei that I learned about Blogathon, and of course, its concept and all.. Edrei showed me his previous Blogathon blog posts and I was like, WOW. And since it is for charity, I made a mental note to participate the next time around.

So yeah, I learned about this year’s Blogathon also from Edrei’s blog and I was very excited about it. I thought about the posts that I was going to make during the entire 24 hours and I wondered whether I could survive it.

Then I remembered something.. My boyfriend, whom we shall call J from now onwards, did not quite like the whole “blogging” idea. You may read about this here. But to cut a long story short, he thought that I was picking up a lot of profanities and learning the “wrong things” whenever I blog-hopped. Needless to say, he does NOT know that I maintain a blog la..

I was saddened at the thought that I may not be able to participate in this year’s Blogathon because I knew I could not possibly sit in front of the computer for the entire 24 hours IF J was around. I mean, he would be suspiscious if I refused to have breakfast, or lunch or dinner with him, right?

Another “let-down” was that the Blogathon would start on a Saturday, and will last through the whole of Sunday. But in Kuala Terengganu where I am currently based, Sunday is a working day!! And I thought I could not possibly stay at home the whole day without turning up on campus. My Supervisor would definitely hunt me down..

Anyway, I think it is a good idea that I had decided to return to Melaka to celebrate my Mum’s birthday. Otherwise I really would NOT be able to participate in something so meaningful, don’t you think so?? =)

P/S: We need more sponsors! All proceeds will go to Eden Handicap Service Centre. Click here to pledge.

Interesting… sad some people feel like that about blogging.

But it’s good to have a partner that isn’t into blogging. It keeps us bloggers in check and pulls us back to what’s most important in blogging…life itself. :)

Glad you could join this round. Think you can make it full time like some of us next time round? :D
