Since 2005, I have been raising funds for my medical treatments publicly. After two surgeries in Malaysia and seven more at the U.S. House Ear Institute, I am now being treated by the U.S. National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke as part of a four-year research program.
How will funds raised be used?
Funds will be used to cover my mother’s and my travel for my medical treatments. They are also used to pay for my medicine, nutritional supplements, medical aids, adaptive devices and college.
As of February 2011, these are my expenditures:
1. BIO 30 Propolis from Manuka Health in New Zealand. Independent researchers studied various bee propolis by different manufacturers and found that the propolis by Manuka Health has the highest compound of CAPE and Bioflovanoid (30mg in every 25ml bottle). They further tested and found it to be capable of suppressing NF2 tumors in vitro. NZD8.95 per 25ml bottle. I take 9ml a day.
2. I am completing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology through Upper Iowa University’s Extended University programs. USD333 per credit hour.
3. Nutrilite health supplements: Daily multivitamin and multimineral, Vitamin C, B Complex, Salmon Omega 3, Multi Carotene, Positrim and Calcium Magnesium.
Is this Trust Fund tax deductible?
No, Yvonne Foong NF Trust is a personal fund solely for my health and educational needs. In order for a Fund to be tax deductible, a foundation must be established under law with a board of trustees governing the fund. It must also benefit a population rather than a sole individual. I do not have the resources for such massive undertakings.
